Painted Bride "Planting a Forest" Exhibition

My friends at The Painted Bride Art Center are collecting tree memories and photographs for a fall exhibition as part of their RE-PLACE-ing Philadelphia Project.  They're looking for a short description and image of your favorite tree in the city (I know, I know... hard to choose just one!)  Find out more about the project and how to submit yours here.

I spent some time under one of my personal favorites, and in an attempt to demonstrate what I love about it, ended up with this triptych:

This Clark Park tree has great branches that envelop me like arms when I sit down to write beneath it. I often think about all it must have witnessed over the years, being a grand still spectator to human drama unfolding in "The Bowl."
